DHL says Asian e-commerce drives global air freight market growth
According to news on May 15, DHL reported that the global air freight market continued to grow in April. Boosted by the demand for Asian e-commerce business, freight demand increased by 6% year-on-year, especially in China and the Asia-Pacific region.
Chinese retail e-commerce companies such as SHEIN and Temu have promoted industry development, and the demand for transportation on China-US routes has increased significantly. In addition, seasonal demand such as flower exports also drives freight volume growth.
As the world's busiest cargo airport, Hong Kong International Airport continues to play an important role in global trade. As Asia-Pacific trade recovers, airports are preparing for greater cargo volumes.
