The main types of ocean freight are:

CY-CY: Port to port service, referring to full container load transportation from the port of loading to the port of discharge.

CFS-CY: Consolidation service, referring to consolidating cargo from multiple shippers into a full container for export.

CY-CFS: Distribution service, referring to dismantling a full container and distributing cargo to different consignees upon arrival at the port.

CFS-CFS: LCL cargo transportation between warehouses at the port of loading and port of discharge.

DDU/DDP: Unpaid/paid delivery, referring to customs clearance and delivery arrangements at the port by the agent. The difference is that DDP does not require customs duties declaration while DDU does, with associated costs borne by the shipper.
